Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use the UNDER THE NOSE website, including people with disabilities. The site was built to meet Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA, which is based on the international WCAG guidelines. In practice we worked to WCAG 2.2 level AA, which includes the standard's requirements.

What we did

  • Headings and landmarks for easy screen reader navigation, with the language and reading direction set on every page (Hebrew right to left, English left to right).
  • The whole site works with a keyboard alone. Focus is clearly visible, and every page starts with a "Skip to main content" link.
  • Every image that carries information has a text description. Illustrative images are marked as such.
  • Text and button color contrast meets the requirements and was checked with an automated tool.
  • The layout adapts to narrow screens and to text enlarged up to 200% without losing content.
  • If you set "reduce motion" on your device, the animated intro and background videos don't play. Every background video has a pause button.
  • The quote form has a label for every field, clear error messages next to each field and an error summary at the top.
  • You can also reach us without the form: on WhatsApp, by phone or by email.

How we tested

We tested the site in current versions of Chrome and Safari, on desktop and at phone sizes, with keyboard navigation, and with the automated checker axe-core. Automated tools don't catch every problem, so we'd be glad to hear about anything that's hard to use.

Known limitations

  • The background videos are decorative, have no sound, and contain no information that isn't also in the text.
  • Links to WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok lead to external services whose accessibility we don't control.
